When we were young we would look for scary or unusual bible verses. It snowed a lot and we didn’t have XBox 360. This psalm always makes me go, “Whoa!” The Bible sure covers all emotions, doesn’t it?
How To Be A Christian Without Being A Jerk
Faith in real life
J is for Joyeux Noel
Joyeux Noel- “Merry Christmas” in French. Another European country where people have become so secularized, that Christmas may be just a distant memory soon. Jesus hasn’t gone anywhere…Still King.
I is for Indigestion
Indigestion- We get this because of overeating and eating richer foods than usual. Moderation is wise. Even better are the great anti-acids and acid reducers now available. Merry Christmas!
H is for Holly
Holly- Green thorny leaves, and bright red berries certainly bring to mind the crown of thorns and drops of blood. God uses nature to subtly point to Christ- if you are looking.
psalm 136:1
Psalm 136 uses the refrain, “His love endures forever,” in every verse. You would think we would get the message after the first couple of verses, but it is a good reminder.
c28 clothing for Christmas
My favorite store at the Northridge Mall is c28 clothing store. Christian t shirts and everything else are here and they are not dorky or angry, like so much Christian logo wear. Subtle conversation starters. Also, the full on ministry staff of Rob, Billy, Nate and all, well, if you need prayer in a mall, here is the place. Visit them today for Christmas gifts that already have the “Christ” in them. If you aren’t in the area, you can order online here.
psalm 135:6
We might as well get used to it. God is going to do whatever he wants. So, a successful life is one where we discover what God is doing and join hIm.
G is for Glaedelig Jul!
Glaedelig Jul!- “Merry Christmas” in Danish. Denmark has the third highest per capita (some estimates as high as 80%) atheists/agnostics in the world, yet 85% of Danes are members of the Lutheran Church. Nice.
is God partial to the poor? Audio
When your trust in Jesus is powerful and your need for Jesus is self-evident….Watch out!
F is for Fa la la la la, fa la la la
Fa la la la la, fa la la la- Who sings Deck the Halls correctly? This is the actual lyric in the original English and Welsh translation. What else do we sing wrong? Quiet Night?
