“Tolerance” is one of the most misused words in the public realm. It is usually defined as, “everyone has an equally valid viewpoint.” So, someone who is “intolerant” if they think they are right and someone else is wrong. Actually, the reverse is true. In order to be tolerant, you have to disagree with someone else. You cannot show tolerance for someone you agree with.
