My mention of online gaming yesterday was not a lament that I was missing out. I'm just reflecting on another one of our cultural phenomena.
One hundred years ago our great grandparents were playing bridge; but now we are blowing bridges up… One hundred years ago we would go across town to our cousin's house and play jacks; but now we jack our cousin's car (the one who lives across the country) in GTA IV… One hundred years ago we would play Lincoln Logs; but now it is time to log on… (Actually Lincoln Logs were invented 94 years ago, by Frank Lloyd Wright's son, John. Oh, and just about every day I drive by a home designed by another of Frank Lloyd Wright's sons, Lloyd. On Tampa Ave. in Reseda.)Posted via email from how to be a christian without being a jerk!
