How To Be A Christian Without Being A Jerk

psalm 128:1

November 26th, 2008

What does it mean to “fear” God? It is not being afraid because he is going to nuke you, it is being afraid to disappoint him, because you respect him so much. A healthy fear, but scary, nevertheless.

Ah. I like this one. I’m gonna use it and rip you off again. :)

I was raised Catholic so I was brought up to fear God as in being punished by God. I have slowly removed myself from that negative concept. I now try to think, act, and strive to not let God down by studying and doing the Word. Great thought PD!

Thanks for responding guys. This might be one of the great paradoxes of faith. The deeper your connection; the more you fear. And you know how the Father is completely gracious.
